Pastor Henry L. Goodwin

Pastor Henry L. Goodwin is a native of South Carolina. He was ordained to Christian ministry and called to his first pastorate at age 22. He has extensive experience in Christian ministry, including Senior Pastor of several churches in South Carolina. He attended His Excellence Theological Seminary where he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in theology. He was ordained Bishop in October of 2014.

Pastor Goodwin provides Christ-like leadership, preaching, counseling, shepherding, and encouraging believers toward maturity in Christ, and non-believers to a life in Christ. He became Pastor of Kingdom United Church in Jesus Christ in 2025.

Pastor Goodwin is founder of Conquerors of Christ Apostolic Ministry, whose mission is to fulfill the Great Commission, and serves as the Bishop Prelate/President of the New Hope Christian Fellowship of Churches, Inc.

Pastor Goodwin is anointed by God to deliver the Word. He is a devoted and committed man of God, a man of prayer, a man who knows and accepts that the work of a Pastor is challenging. He has committed his life to doing all things though Christ who strengthens him. He’s Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, and truly puts his faith in God in action. He is always willing to lend a hand to those who call on him and is committed to being a Servant of God and doing His will.

He is the devoted husband to his wife, First Lady LaVern Goodwin, a loving father to his children, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. First Lady LaVenr Goodwin is also an ordained minister and Elder. She is a native of Southampton County. Pastor and First Lady Goodwin are gracious givers to the Church.

Yes! We Should Go to Church Together. Reconciliation is a form of Healing. God directed Sid Faucette to plant Kingdom United Church in Jesus Christ to become the multiracial Church in Southampton County with heartfelt focus on Racial Reconciliation. Guided sessions offer spiritual and emotional healing, foster peace, and gain restoration within our community.

We are born in the Image of God as One Race. KUCJC brings together all races and backgrounds to build bridges of understanding and love in Southampton County.
